Fire destroys Arlington home after lightning strike

VIDEO: There was a devastating house fire in Arlington that was sparked by lightning on Tuesday morning. Arlington Fire Chief James Harville says crews responded to the home on Evening Mist Drive just after 3:00 a.m.

Crews tried to put out the flames before it got out of control, but they couldn’t stop the roof from caving in. The entire second floor of the home was burned, according to AFD. Chief Harvill says the home will end up being a total loss. The owners were not home at the time of the fire, but neighbors say they saw lightning a few minutes before the flames appeared, according to AFD.
