VIDEO: A fire Sunday night damaged a duplex in southeast Memphis, fire officials said.
According to the Memphis Fire Department (MFD), firefighters responded just before 9 p.m. to a fire at the duplex on Millers Pond Circle off Kirby Parkway. They arrived to find smoke and fire coming from the home’s living room area, MFD said.
No injuries were reported but FOX13 obtained photos showing firefighters rescuing a dog from the duplex. MFD said the fire was accidental and was caused by an electrical malfunction in the living room.
The fire caused $120,000 in damages to the duplex, MFD said. The department said the duplex’s adjoining unit and a neighboring home suffered $20,000 and $800 in damages, respectively.
