DeKalb County firefighter injured in motorcycle crash

A DeKalb County firefighter was injured in a motorcycle crash in DeKalb County on Saturday, according to the DeKalb County Fire Department (DCFD). DCFD said Firefighter Terry Phillips was in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Saturday. He had to be flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for his injuries.

Phillips sustained “significant trauma,” but he is stable. Phillips’ wife, Leah, told DCFD he is awake, alert, and appears to have no neurological issues. However, Phillips will continue to undergo tests so doctors can determine the best course of action for his spinal injuries. “Please keep Terry and his family in your thoughts and prayers,” DCFD said.
