PHOTOS: The Madison & Wentworth Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to a fully engulfed boat still on the lift near Evergreen Acres Drive late Monday. Firefighters reported a working fire and heavy smoke from one boat, with a Jet Ski and a second boat at risk. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, safeguarding nearby vessels and structures. Afterward, they discovered fuel leaking from the vessel.
Lake County Dive Rescue assisted by deploying an absorbent boom around the boat and dock to contain the spill. All units cleared the scene and returned to service by 2:30 am on Tuesday. No injuries to Firefighters, civilians, or domestic animals were reported.
