PHOTOS: Codington County Search & Rescue (CCSAR) recently conducted under-ice training exercises on Lake Pelican, the site of a previous vehicle recovery operation. A few weeks prior, CCSAR assisted South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks in locating a truck that had gone through the ice. This past weekend, the organization took advantage of the situation to hone its skills before the vehicle was removed.
CCSAR expressed its gratitude to Performance Towing & Recovery for the opportunity to observe and learn during the vehicle removal process. In a social media post, CCSAR member Josh Kerfien praised Performance Towing’s professionalism and dedication, highlighting the team’s “tireless effort” in ensuring a safe and successful recovery. The training provided valuable real-world experience for CCSAR members.
