PHOTOS: The new state-of-the-art Law Enforcement and Fire Training Facility is nearly complete. It’s located behind the sheriff’s office on Gurley Road in Marion. Officials said the facility houses an indoor shooting range and centralized training space to serve all law enforcement agencies in Marion County. County Deputy Administrator Kent Williams gave county council members an update this week on the facility, which isn’t costing the county one red cent. “So, with the law enforcement training facility. The indoor, outdoor shooting range and the fire training facility is a total cost of $3,402,713.84,” Williams said. “And today, the revenue that has come in to support that total system out there is $3,152,714.37. And the balance to complete the system is $249,999.47. Round that off to $250,000. And it has not cost the taxpayers of Marion County not one dime. This was all generated by way of state dollars, foundation dollars and utility tax credit dollars.”
