House fire reported in Anderson County

The Powdersville Fire Department reported that multiple fire departments were called out to deal with a house fire in Anderson County on Saturday morning. At approximately 4:29 a.m., the department was asked to assist the Three and Twenty Fire Department and Wren Fire Department with a structure fire on Mayfield Road near Old Mill Road. Officials said that the Easley City Fire Department and the Piercetown Fire Department were also called out to assist. Upon arrival, crews discovered a fully involved structure fire, and the building was reportedly about to collapse. Firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading. Authorities said that the homeowners and their pets had safely made it out of the building. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and is currently under investigation.
