‘Grateful it didn’t do more’: Witnesses praise quick response to Myrtle Beach brush fire

VIDEOS: A brush fire in Myrtle Beach sent crews into action Sunday night. Capt. Jon Evans with the Myrtle Beach Fire Department said the agency responded around 7:55 p.m. to the area of 12th Avenue North for the brush fire. Lisa Arnette was eating dinner at Riptydz when they saw the fire in the distance. “It just looked like sort of a contained orange blaze, but this morning when we walked by on the boardwalk and saw it, we were impressed with how quickly it burned that much and grateful it didn’t do more,” Arnette said. Evans explained that the fire started on the beach side of the property, and crews quickly put it out. Many folks told WMBF News on Monday that they were happy with how fast first responders acted.
