Officials say a fire caused heavy damage inside a Rosewood Drive store on Saturday afternoon. The fire happened around 5:30 p.m. at the Dollar Tree store on Rosewood Drive. A spokesperson for the Columbia-Richland Fire Department said the first crews to respond found black smoke coming out of the front of the building. Further investigation revealed that a fire had occurred in an aisle inside the store and spread to the attic. Crews quickly brought the fire under control after entering the building. While the inside of the building reportedly suffered heavy damage, fire officials said everyone inside made it out safely. The official cause of the fire is still under investigation.
