VIDEO: With the goal of putting all Emergency Medical Services training and expertise under one roof, the Charleston County Finance Committee has approved a portion of an $80 million project so they can have a new EMS headquarters. โThis facility isnโt being built for today,โ Charleston County EMS Division Chief Carl Fehr said. โItโs being built for the future.โ Charleston County EMS logistics, training, administration and more are currently spread across the entire county from Ladson to McClellanville. But this proposed facility can help change day-to-day operations. โItโs going to be consolidated to this facility and some other smaller hubs to make sure that weโre getting those resources out to the county,โ Fehr said. This is considered Charleston Countyโs Phase Four of a set of projects being built on Azalea Drive in North Charleston as part of their five-year capital improvement plan.
