Person killed when mobile home fire breaks out in Pawtucket

A person was killed Friday when a fire broke out in a mobile home in Pawtucket, NBC affiliate WJAR reported. The fire broke out midday on Stephanie Drive โ€” a small side street between Columbus Avenue and Prospect Street, southeast of the city’s center.

Emergency crews arrive to the scene to find “very intensive fire” coming from a bedroom of the mobile home. A person was trapped in the bathroom โ€” firefighters were able to pull them out, but they were pronounced dead on scene.

One firefighter was hurt, and is now dealing with severe burns to his ears. The fire does not appear to be suspicious. The person killed in the fire has not been publicly named.
