Motorcyclist hospitalized after colliding into Warwick Fire rescue vehicle

The Warwick Police Department said a motorcyclist was hospitalized after colliding head-on with a Warwick Fire Department rescue vehicle Monday night. Police said the rescue vehicle was headed back to the fire station around 7:40 p.m. in a โ€œnon-emergency capacityโ€ on Diamond Hill Road when a motorcyclist lost control and crossed the double yellow line, striking the rescue vehicle head-on, according to police.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Initial investigation shows the motorcycle operatorโ€™s speed was a factor in the crash, according to Warwick police. Police are investigating the crash.
