Crews knock down house fire in Cumberland

A fire that crews knocked down Monday night in Cumberland is believed to have been caused by a faulty electrical power strip. Fire Chief Nicholas Anderson said the fire started just before 9 p.m. at a home on East Street.

The cause was determined after an investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and Cumberland fire marshal, according to Anderson. A 12 News videographer saw a notice posted on the door Tuesday morning that said the home is currently uninhabitable.
