Young child among 2 critically injured after flames tear through Chester home

VIDEO: Two people, including a young child, were hospitalized Wednesday night after flames tore through a home in Chester, Pennsylvania.

The fire broke out around 8:45 p.m. on the 200 block of Wilson Street.

The child remains in critical condition after being rescued from the second floor of the home.

An adult woman was also critically injured with burns suffered in the blaze.

Neighbors identified the injured as a mother and her baby. They said a second child was in the home at the time of the fire but was rescued.

“I talked to the woman. She was downstairs screaming that her baby was stuck upstairs, and she just wanted to get to her son,” a neighbor recalled.

The fire reached two alarms before it was brought under control.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
