Pittston Township Ambulance shares EMT struggles and advice during EMS week

VIDEO: For Emergency Medical Services week, FOX56 is highlighting an ambulance company that has been serving a Luzerne County community for nearly 50 years. Working in an urban area with a mix of residential and industrial properties, the Pittston Twp Ambulance responds to approximately 1200 to 1400 calls per year according to ambulance president Donald Hudzinski.

โ€œAnything from the simple fall and canโ€™t get up to cardiac events and major traumas. Weโ€™ve had them all,โ€ said Hudzinski. Two ambulances and a hybrid system of volunteers and paid members allow the company to respond to multiple calls at once, although Hudzinski says they remain understaffed due to a nationwide EMT shortage.
