Lancaster’s Fire Police Association hosts training classes

VIDEO/PHOTOS: In Lancaster, the Fire Police Association hosted a fire police training weekend at the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center. Fire police respond to emergency scenes to help control the flow of traffic to ensure safety at an incident. They also may halt traffic, block a road or detour cars in another direction because of the situation and the dangers involved. “We can do what we can to keep everybody safe. Being a fire police officer is a dangerous job. We are all volunteers here in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania,” said Secretary Jason Beiler. “One thing that we do ask is that you learn your back roads and slow down. We’re there to keep everybody safe and to get you guys around safely.” Saturday was the Basic Fire Police Operations class. On Sunday, they held an Advanced Fire Police class.
