VIDEO: The roof is gone and the storefronts are gutted, at the Countryside Square Plaza along business Route 209 near Snydersville.
Investigators say flames ripped through the building around 9 p.m. Tuesday night.
Five businesses called the plaza home, including Evoke Hair Salon, a law office, daycare, a wellness center, and a pool supply company, which had a storage garage in the back of the building.
Neighbor Felcia Katz says she found out from a friend who has an office in the strip that something was wrong. “She asked me to do her a favor and just go out and look, and then she had another call coming in. I didn’t come down, but I stepped out onto my deck, and I looked over, and it was engulfed in flames.”
Crews battled flames for nearly three hours. A state police fire marshal believes the fire started in the attic area on the right side of the building, spreading quickly to the other businesses.
