Fire damages Susquehanna Township row homes; children escape, two pet lizards killed

A fire damaged three row homes in Dauphin County Tuesday morning.

A homeowner along North 6th Street near Hurlock Street in Susquehanna Township told WGAL they received a call around 9:45 a.m., shortly after arriving at work, telling them there was a fire at their row home while their children were still inside.

The children were able to get out safely, and neighbors said the familyโ€™s dogs also made it out.

That neighbor added that two pet lizards inside the home were killed.

From the back of the homes, there was visible damage, especially in the row home where the fire may have started. The other two homes sustained mostly smoke damage.

Fire investigators photographed and examined the interiors of the homes as fire crews from Susquehanna Township remained on scene.
