Crews called to scene following 2 house fires in McKeesport

VIDEO: Flames kept fire crews in McKeesport very busy overnight, with firefighters responding to multiple fires. The first started just after 1 a.m. at a home located on the 500 block of Olive Street. Flames could be seen shooting out of the home. Officials from the McKeesport Fire Department told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that the Olive Street fire involved three buildings, all of which were abandoned.

Just a few blocks away and a short time later, fire crews were called to a home in the 600 block of Shaw Avenue. Officials from the McKeesport Fire Department said the fire started inside an occupied home. Officials said all residents were able to make it out safely. We’re told fire officials believe the second fire was caused by embers from the first scene that blew into the home. No injuries have been reported in either fire. The causes of both fires remain under investigation.
