Controlled burn gets out of hand, guts garage, engulfs multiple vehicles in Dauphin County

PHOTOS: A fire gutted a garage and burned multiple vehicles in Dauphin County on Wednesday.

Crews responded to the blaze in the 3200 block of Hill Road near Vista Lane in Conewago Township just before noon. The scene was just north of Elizabethtown.

The fire was upgraded to the second alarm for additional manpower.

According to the Londonderry Fire Company, a controlled burn got out of hand and spread into the woods.

The blaze engulfed several vehicles and gutted a shed and a garage. The surrounding land was scorched and burned by the fire.

According to the Elizabethtown Area Water Authority, nearby residents were told they may experience cloudy or discolored water.

The company said first responders utilized the water system to fill their tankers.
