Assistant Fire Chief Chip Chidester of Harford Volunteer Fire Company remembered for his legacy

VIDEO: Assistant Fire Chief Chip Chidester of the Harford Volunteer Fire Company in Susquehanna County died this past Sunday from injuries while fighting a brushfire. “It’s one of those things where it feels like you see it on the news, but now we are the news, now he is the news. It literally cannot get any closer to home than being right here in our own building,โ€ said Chad Batzel, the chief of the Harford Volunteer Fire Company. It’s in the fire company building that Chip spent most of his life. “His dad was actually an assistant chief, he was here at a very young age, thinking ten, twelve. He grew up around the fire station,โ€ said Rick Moser, an assistant chief of the Harford Volunteer Fire Company.
