Eight homes catch fire after propane tank explosion in Mount Carmel

VIDEO: Crews were on the scene of a massive fire Monday that broke out in several homes that was caused by a propane tank explosion.

The fire broke out just after midnight on South Poplar Street in Mount Carmel, affecting eight homes.

Everyone made it out safely, and according to the Red Cross, volunteers have helped 23 people that included 15 adults and eight children.

Two firefighters had to be taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

All eight homes sustained damage. Mount Carmel Fireโ€™s Randy Kramer said that the fire was the result of an exploding propane tank.
