Update: Investigation continues into plane crash at Southwest Oregon Regional Airport in Coos County

VIDEO/PHOTOS: The investigation continues following a plane crash at Southwest Oregon Regional Airport that ended with five people taken to a nearby hospital. The plane crashed Monday, sliding into the water next to the runway after attempting to land. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash. The cause has yet to be determined.

The Bay Area Hospital confirmed that all five patients were discharged with the final patient leaving as of Tuesday evening and are on their way back to Utah. “The other one that stayed the night here at Bay Area Hospital was doing well,” Bay Area Hospital Chief Nursing Officer Jennifer Collins said. “I had a chance to go up and speak to him myself. He talked about how scary it was and all that they heard and saw, how well the pilot navigated the end of the runway, really to not hit that building.”
