Umatilla County Fire District #1 (UCFD#1) has been awarded a $20,667 grant from the Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation. This funding allowed the district to purchase six advanced video laryngoscopes to improve emergency medical responses, UCFD#1 said in a release.
These state-of-the-art devices feature a high-definition camera that provides a detailed internal view of a patient’s airway. This technology enhances paramedics’ ability to assess and manage airways during critical emergencies.
With over 80% of UCFD#1’s calls involving emergency medical responses, these advanced tools are essential for providing high-quality care. The laryngoscopes ensure the district remains equipped with the latest technology in pre-hospital care, UCFD#1 added.
