Shed fire in Lebanon destroys beehive boxes, no injuries reported

PHOTOS: Firefighters in Lebanon responded to a structure fire on Thursday in the 38000 block of Lacomb Drive. Fire officials say initial reports indicated that an outdoor shed had caught fire. Upon arrival, crews with the Lebanon Fire District (LFD) discovered an 8×8 shed engulfed in heavy smoke and flames. According to fire officials, the homeowner was using a garden hose in an attempt to prevent the fire from spreading due to the shed being close to a nearby structure.

Firefighters on the first due engine quickly went to work when they arrived and were supported by an additional engine and a fire/medic crew. LFD says the blaze was brought under control within minutes, and crews remained on site for an additional 30 minutes to conduct salvage and overhaul operations. The Lebanon Fire District responded with 10 personnel, utilizing two engines, one fire/medic unit, one water tender, and one chief officer. No injuries were reported, but the property owner lost all his beehive boxes stored in the shed.
