PHOTOS: Salem Fire crews responded to a house fire early Sunday morning, tackling smoke and flames reported in multiple areas of the home. Firefighters quickly located the source of the fire in the basement and worked diligently to prevent it from spreading further. The fire also reached part of the first floor, and the large amount of contents in the home made searching challenging, Salem Fire said. Two adults were displaced by the fire, and the Red Cross provided assistance to those affected. The damage is estimated at $20,000. This incident marks the fifth fire in just over 24 hours for Salem Fire crews, including three other structure fires and one vegetation fire.
