PHOTOS: Portland Fire and Rescue has completed training with its latest firefighting tool, the Cold Cut Cobra. This innovative device is set to revolutionize the way electric vehicle battery compartment fires are extinguished. Currently, putting out these fires can take hours and poses environmental risks, as the water used can flush toxins into runoff. The Cold Cut Cobra addresses these issues by piercing through steel casings and flooding them to prevent oxygen from causing combustion. Funding for the tool was provided by the Portland Clean Energy Fund.
