Lebanon Fire District joins food drive to aid families in crisis

The Lebanon Fire District has teamed up with local organizations to launch a food drive for Lebanon’s food banks. According to the Enliven Foundation, this initiative is crucial as the government shutdown has temporarily halted SNAP benefits. Local food banks are seeing increased demand due to the SNAP lapse. Donations are vital, with just one dollar buying up to nine pounds of food through the Oregon Food Bank.

Donation barrels are set up at Lebanon Fire District Station 31 on West Oak Street and other locations in the community. The drive will continue until SNAP benefits are restored. “Supporting our neighbors in need is what community is all about,” said Fire Chief Joseph Rodondi. The Lebanon Fire District is committed to helping families access essential resources during this challenging period.
