Firefighters contain blaze at floating home at Scappoose marina, owner suffers minor injuries

PHOTOS: A fire broke out early Sunday morning at Skyline Marina, prompting a swift response from the Scappoose Fire District. Firefighters arrived at approximately 12:12 a.m. to find a floating home fully engulfed in flames, threatening nearby structures. The fire department quickly called a second alarm due to the unique challenges posed by the moorage fire. Additional firefighters soon arrived, and the blaze was brought under control shortly thereafter.

The response included both career and volunteer firefighters, with assistance from Columbia 9-1-1 Communications District, Columbia River Fire & Rescue, Portland Fire & Rescue, the City of Scappoose Government Police Department, and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The homeowner sustained minor burn injuries but declined medical treatment and is receiving assistance from the Red Cross. No injuries to firefighters were reported.
