Car crashes into Salem building causing $20,000 damage, technical rescue team called

PHOTOS: The Salem Fire Department says an estimated $20,000 damage was caused to a building after a car crashed into it late Monday night. According to the fire department, they responded to reports of a crash around 11:44 p.m. on August 18, on Capital Street Northeast to find significant damage to the brick building. Fire crews say nobody was injured either inside the building or in the vehicle, but they had to call out the Technical Rescue Team to stabilize the building. According to photos released by the fire department, the crash occurred at the Salem’s Eye Professionals business. The cause of the crash has not been released.
