Okmulgee Fire Department debuts new fire engine with community push-in ceremony

VIDEO: The Okmulgee Fire Department welcomed a new fire engine on Tuesday. Firefighters with Station 2 held a push-in ceremony with help from members of the community. This new truck comes after one of their other fire trucks was damaged in an accident while returning from a call.

โ€œIt has a lot of compartment room, which this is going to be our primary truck that responds to car accidents so that was one of the advantages of it,โ€ said Chief Dewayne Hurt. โ€œIt allows more room for our extrication tools. We carry hydraulic jacks for stabilization. There is plenty of room for all that stuff thatโ€™s another big advantage moving forward.โ€ Once the other fire truck that was damaged has been repaired, it will replace another truck that was used for rural fires.
