VIDEO: The Okmulgee Fire Department welcomed a new fire engine on Tuesday. Firefighters with Station 2 held a push-in ceremony with help from members of the community. This new truck comes after one of their other fire trucks was damaged in an accident while returning from a call.
โIt has a lot of compartment room, which this is going to be our primary truck that responds to car accidents so that was one of the advantages of it,โ said Chief Dewayne Hurt. โIt allows more room for our extrication tools. We carry hydraulic jacks for stabilization. There is plenty of room for all that stuff thatโs another big advantage moving forward.โ Once the other fire truck that was damaged has been repaired, it will replace another truck that was used for rural fires.
