The City of Piqua is proud to announce Vance McCulla has been appointed as a captain of the Piqua Fire Department. The City of Piqua Civil Service Commission confirmed the appointment for Vance McCulla at its meeting on June 4. Piqua City Manager Paul Oberdorfer swore in Captain McCulla on June 16.
“Captain McCulla has been serving the citizens of the Piqua community for over 10 years as a firefighter and paramedic; he has been serving communities in Miami and Champaign Counties for even longer,” said Chief Lee Adams. “We are fortunate to have members like Vance who share a wealth of experience in their dedicated service and willingness to be a leader.”
Captain Vance McCulla brings 25 years of experience in firefighting and emergency medical services. He began his career as a junior firefighter with the JSP Fire District while still in high school and has remained actively involved with the volunteer department, where he currently serves as fire chief. Originally, from St. Paris, Ohio, Captain McCulla continues to reside there with his children, Evan and Ava.
