VIDEO/PHOTOS: The State Fire Marshal’s office now investigating a house fire in Jefferson Township. Dayton 24/7 Now’s, Kysha Hancock was at that home, where Jefferson Township’s fire chief told her what’s next for the home, plus how a firefighter hurt in the flames is doing.
“When it was officially called in it was already coming outdoors and windows, possibly someone inside,” said Chief Gregory Wilcox with Jefferson Township Fire. Jefferson Township fire crews, along with the Moraine and Trotwood Fire Departments were battling a house fire Monday afternoon on Dayton-Liberty Pike.
Chief Wilcox said with all hands on deck and more resources, they were able to put the fire out fast. โThis area does have a hydrant about one block away, so we were able to establish a water supply crews made a pretty quick knock down on it,” said Wilcox. Wilcox told Hancock although crews did calm the fire, there were challenges along the way.
