While patrolling the area, they noticed a Trotwood home on fire. According to a spokesperson of the Trotwood Fire Department, the police saw that smoke was coming from a home located in the 500 block of Olive Road on Friday, around 10:25 a.m., and called in the incident.
Police reportedly told fire crews that there was smoke coming from all windows of the house. When fire crews arrived, the spokesperson said there were flames coming out of the front porch area. Further investigation showed that the house had not been serviced with gas, electricity or water, leading firefighters to believe the house was vacant, according to the spokesperson. The spokesperson said that the house was a total loss. On the scene to assist were the Dayton Fire Department, Jefferson Township Fire Department and New Lebanon Fire Department. There was limited information available about the cause of the fire. The incident remains under investigation.
