VIDEO/PHOTOS: A family was displaced and a dog was killed in a Greater Cincinnati house fire that caused an estimated $150,000 in damages. The fire took place just after 2 a.m. on Saturday on Swirlwood Lane in Colerain Township, per a release from Colerain Fire & EMS. A mother, her son and one of their dogs made it out safely, but another dog died.
“Upon arrival, crews could hear smoke alarms and see flames coming from the roof of the house,” the release read. Art Hung, along with his wife and son, were asleep when their neighbor started banging heavily on their door at 2 a.m. Hung said he saw flames climbing one side of his neighbor’s house. The fire burned so hot that the siding on Hung’s house next door began to melt.
