Cause of Rocky River Brewing Company fire ruled accidental; damage estimated at $3 million

VIDEOS: Fire officials have released new information following Tuesdayโ€™s fire at Rocky River Brewing Company, which sent two firefighters to the hospital and caused millions in damage. According to Rocky River Fire Chief Aaron Lenart, the fire was construction-related, stating that “workers were doing some hot work on the roof.”

The cause has been ruled accidental, with damages estimated at $3 million, split evenly between the building itself and the businessโ€™s contents. Lenart added that both firefighters injured during the response are doing well and were kept at a hospital overnight for observation. Fire crews were first called to the Center Ridge Road brewery around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. The restaurant was not open at the time. The fire was contained to the roof and brought under control shortly after noon.
