Tipp City barn fire causes $100K in damages

Tipp City fire crews responded to a barn fire in the early hours of Monday morning. Tipp City Fire & EMS responded to a fire on Aug. 25 around 3:40 a.m. in the 6300 block of Country Estates Drive. Upon arrival, crews found a barn with flames and smoke showing.

Firefighters quickly got to work putting out the fire, while protecting the nearby home, which was at risk due to close proximity. Crews were on scene for over two hours. Tipp City crews received mutual aid assistance from West Milton, Vandalia, and Troy, as well as Bethel and Elizabeth townships. No one was inside the barn at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials say the fire started in a corner area of the barn. Damages are reported to be at $100,000 currently.
