72-year-old woman dead following mobile home fire in Delaware County

VIDEO: A 72-year-old woman is dead after a fire at a mobile home park in Delaware County on Friday morning. The fire happened at Shroyer’s Mobile Homes in the 2000 block of U.S. 23. Tri Township Fire Chief Tim Carr said someone called about the fire around 5:50 a.m. after passing by it.

Firefighters responded to the blaze. Carr told 10TV that the fire appeared to have started in a bedroom. Firefighters found a woman in the living room while battling the fire. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released, and her cause of death is under investigation. It appeared that only one trailer was affected by the fire. Crews were able to extinguish the fire, but the back of the mobile home sustained heavy damage from the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
