VIDEO: One person was found dead after a house caught fire in Mandan. According to the Mandan Fire Department, the fire happened just before 2 a.m. on Saturday in the 600 block of 25th St. SE. When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy smoke and fire conditions coming from the single-family home.
The initial reports said that two people were trapped inside, but one person was able to get out before firefighters arrived. Crews immediately began to put the fire out and conducted several searches of the home, where they found the occupant dead on scene. The fire was under control within about 45 minutes, and no other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
