No injuries after house fire in Grand Forks

At 12:25 PM on Sunday, June 1st, the Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched to 1322 Allwood Ct. for a report of smoke in a private residence. Fire crews arrived on scene to find active flames on the first floor and smoke throughout the residence.

The fire was quickly extinguished with moderate fire damage isolated to the kitchen. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental. The occupants of the residence were displaced overnight and are being assisted by family.

There were no injuries to the occupants or fire service personnel. The Grand Forks Fire Department would like to remind residents to keep anything that can catch fire; oven mitts, utensils, food packages, and towels off and away from your stovetop.
