First responder agencies to hold Hazmat training with National Guard in Bismarck

First responder agencies in Bismarck will be working with the stateโ€™s National Guard to conduct Hazmat exercises this week. The agencies โ€” the Bismarck Fire Department, Metro Area Ambulance, and Bismarck Emergency Management โ€” will be working with the 81st (ND) Civil Support Team (CST) to conduct two Hazmat exercises in order to strengthen the partnerships between local, state, and federal agencies in responding to incidents involving hazardous materials.

Those in the area may see emergency response vehicle movement and operational response actions throughout the day, starting at about 7 a.m. Residents are asked to avoid areas marked โ€˜Exercise in Progressโ€™ or โ€˜Trainingโ€™ to ensure uninterrupted training and for safety.
