Family loses 4 pets in Minot structure fire

A kitchen fire that broke out Friday at a home in Minot took the lives of three dogs and one cat, and displaced the family that lived there. According to the Minot Fire Department, the fire started in the kitchen of a home on 14th Street NW Friday evening. Firefighters responded just before 9 p.m. and saw smoke coming from the front of the home. They quickly began searching for the pets reportedly trapped inside.

The fire was contained to the kitchen, but parts of the home sustained significant fire and smoke damage. Three cats were rescued, but the other cat and three dogs did not survive. The couple who lived there, along with their kids, are reportedly safe and uninjured. There were no reported injuries to firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
