Rockingham County, in partnership with the Stokesdale Fire District, plans to break ground on Station 82, a new fire substation aimed at improving emergency response in the county’s southwestern region, the city said.
The facility will serve an area experiencing rapid residential and industrial growth and will house both fire protection services and a 24/7 EMS crew, providing around-the-clock emergency medical coverage.
Senator Phil Berger and Representative Reece Pyrtle, who helped secure funding for the project, are expected to attend the groundbreaking, scheduled for Thursday, October 2, at 157 Sylvania Road in Stokesdale.
