VIDEO: For Hispanic Heritage Month, we are continuing to honor the culture by speaking with people in our community who continue to show their Hispanic heritage in the triad every day of the year.
โEvery time my dad had a chance to take me to work, he would take me to work,โ said an EMT with Guilford County EMS, Jamie Saldierna.
From a young age, Saldierna was taught what hard work looks like.
โEspecially because they didnโt really know English, so it was hard for them to get around,โ Saldierna said.
Saldierna moved to Greensboro from Mexico at just two years old. Now, the memory of his family adjusting is something he always keeps in mind on the job.
โThey feel more comfortable. They feel like theyโre getting the right treatment just as much as any other patient,โ Saldierna said.
