Greenville Fire/Rescue Chief Brock Davenport announces plans for retirement

VIDEO: Greenville Fire/Rescue Chief Brock Davenport announced his plans for retirement as the department’s leader after 26 years of service. The chief’s last day with the department will be on August 29, 2025. Davenport began his career with Greenville Fire/Rescue in May of 1999 and was named Fire/Rescue Chief in October of 2023 after working his way up through the ranks. “I have been truly blessed to be a part of this wonderful department for the last 26 and a half years of my career,” Davenport said. “The people I have met and worked alongside are some of the best in the business, and I am honored to have worked with such a dedicated group of men and women. The City of Greenville is a great place to live and raise a family. I feel privileged to have served our community in this capacity and look forward to watching Greenville continue to grow and prosper.”
