Greenville Fire and Rescue unveil new fire truck at push-in ceremony

VIDEO: Greenvilleโ€™s Fire and Rescue Station 2 welcomed a new truck to the fleet the morning of Wednesday, June 4, in an official push-in ceremony. The ceremony officially dedicates the new truck to active status and features a $1.3 million fire engine and a 750-gallon water tank. The truck was a much-needed addition to a busy station in the medical district. โ€œIt actually signifies to the folks theyโ€™re there to help. Theyโ€™re running towards the problem, not away from it,โ€ Greenville Fire and Rescue Chief Brock Davenport said. โ€œAnd thatโ€™s why we have these big, flashy, shiny trucks and why we take such good care of them, and we keep them polished up and everything because it is part of a community.โ€ The new engines include more features that separate it from the rest, including ground ladders on the outside of the truck, and a length that gives it better turning stability.
