The Winnabow Volunteer Fire Department (WVFD) responded to a large camper fire Wednesday afternoon. According to the WVFD, they along with Leland Fire Rescue were sent to a camper fire off of Long Pine Drive at 3:30 p.m. When they arrived, firefighters found that the fire completely engulfed the inside of the camper. Both departments were able to put out the flames and WFVD thanked the responding units for their hard work. “Many thanks to Leland Fire Rescue Battalion 5 and Engines 5271 and 5371 for the support,” WVFD said in a Facebook post. No word yet on what caused the fire or if anyone was inside the camper at the time of the fire.
