Firefighter injured at Cary house fire; crews work over 30 minutes to get blaze under control

A firefighter was injured while Cary and Apex crews were fighting a house fire in south Cary Sunday night, officials said. The fire was reported just after 8 p.m. at a townhouse unit at 153 Jamison Woods Lane, in a neighborhood just off W. Lake Road, according to Cary Police Department Sgt. Kenric Alexander. When crews arrived, flames were coming from the roof of the home, officials said. Everyone was already out of the townhome, Alexander said. Crews, which included two large ladder trucks, worked for more than 30 minutes to get the fire under control. A firefighter was injured and received treatment at a nearby hospital but Alexander said it was a minor injury.
