Burlington garage fire causes $50K in damage; no injuries, fire officials say

Firefighters extinguished a garage fire Monday morning at 1009 Fair Street in Burlington, causing an estimated $50,000 in damages but no injuries.

The Burlington Fire Department responded at 10:17 a.m. and arrived three minutes later to find heavy smoke coming from a detached garage behind the home. Firefighters confirmed the structure was unoccupied and brought the fire under control about 15 minutes later.

Damage to the garage is estimated at $20,000, with another $30,000 in losses to its contents. The Burlington Police Department assisted at the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
