Beaufort County Community College opens new training facilities for responders

Beaufort County Community College is celebrating the opening of new training facilities for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical professionals, including a K9 Confidence Training Facility with challenging obstacles.

The college is one of only a few in Eastern North Carolina to offer patrol K-9 certification, attracting students from as far as Savannah, Georgia.

A K9 Rubble Pile Training Area is also under construction to support the expansion of the program.

โ€œThese new facilities represent Beaufortโ€™s ongoing commitment to preparing public safety professionals with realistic, hands-on training,โ€ said Dr. David Loope, president of Beaufort CCC. โ€œThey will give our students and agencies across our region the resources they need to train more effectively and serve our communities with confidence.โ€
